THE LOCATION
The area of Astros has a variaty of natural beauties, because of the combination of the sea of Argolic golf and the mountain Parnonas. Small lowlands with olive groves reaching the sea create large and sandy coasts.

THE CASTLE
At the top of the hill, the small medieval castle supervices all the area, offering a wonderfull view of the Argolic golf and the sea of Mirtoon, and the Parnonas mountain from the other side.
THE PORT
Today, the heart of the town is the central square, the port and the pedestrian zone.There are located most of the traditional "tavernas", restaurants, bars, cafes, mini markets and banks. The evening walk from the square to the port and the small theater is a must for the locals and the visitors, offering a lovely view of the picturesque town.
THE BEACHES
Paralio Astros is surrounded by large and sandy beaches, with warm and clean waters, like "Kalisto", "Portes" and "Atsiganos".
THE LAKE OF "MOUSTOS"
Worths a visit to the small lake of "Moustos", only a few minutes by car from Paralio Astros. The protected area is ideal for birdwatching.
THE AREA OF TSAKONIA
A few kilometers South of Paralio Astros we enter in the area of "Tsakonia", well known because of the ancient origins of the local dialect. The drive is wonderfull, as the mountain from one side and the sea from the other create many small and hidden beaches.
THE MOUNTAIN "PARNONAS"
Less than half an hour from Paralio Astros and the visitor can enter in the highland of mountain Parnonas, where are located many small and lovely villages.
THE MONASTERIES
The area is well known about the monasteries, like Loukou in Astros, Paleopanaghia, Artokosta and Panaghia Malevi on Parnonas mountain and Elona near by the town of Leonidio.
